What’s My Skin Age? Let’s find out..

Throughout my twenties, I have always been pretty so-so with skincare.

I knew it was something I definitely should be putting more focus on, but I can’t deny that laziness sometimes took the best of me, and there were many occasions of thinking “Meh, I’ll just go to sleep without washing my face/applying moisturizer”.

This year, I turn 30, and I feel that my mindset has completely changed in the skincare aspect- it isn’t something I just should be doing, it’s something I need to focus on.

I’m not sure if it’s the looming worry of changing decades or what, but all of a sudden I’m noticing my skin changing. Wrinkles in my forehead that I never had before seem to be rearing their heads, eye bags aren’t so easily diminished after one decent nights sleep.. you get the picture. I’ve decided that instead of worrying about getting a year older, I would spend my time researching great products and ways to keep my face looking fresh and young.

I recently tried out the Olay Skin Advisor, which is a neat little website that gives you a report detailing areas of your face that tend to show aging first, and what Olay products can help with those areas.

I decided to visit the website on my phone, as I knew a selfie was required and my computer webcam was not going to be as clear and may have had shadows. I figured if this was a website that was going to analyze my face, I wanted to make sure the picture I submitted was nice and clear!

Ahh, nothing like a fresh faced, no makeup selfie ;)

The site takes time to analyze the 5 skin aging zones- forehead, crow’s feet, cheeks, under eyes, and mouth.

Once you submit your photo, you are asked a few questions, like what areas concern you about your skin, and which concerns you most. For what concerns me most, I said Wrinkles and Fine Lines.

What can I say? I like skincare, haha :)

This question was hard for me, only because it depends on if I’m applying a day or night moisturizer. For Daytime, I like a light feel, but at night I want something super rich. I ended up choosing Light Feel, though.

YES! Skin Age is 28, a year younger than my actual age. I’ll take it!

My best skin zone was my forehead, and focus area was around my mouth. This didn’t really surprise me, as I know I have a lot of texture from breakouts on my chin and jaw line.

My top recommendation was the Olay Total Effects Moisturizer, which was recommended to help with fine lines and wrinkles, as well as uneven skin tone. All products recommended on the tool are available at your local Sam’s Club.

You can take the test here and let me know what your skin age is!
