Wearable Wednesday: Skin Skin Skin!

Alright, so I think some people got a little confused/over analyzed what I said a little bit. In this video I talk about how important I think it is to have clean, even looking skin, when you are wearing eye or lip makeup. I got a lot of feedback from upset people saying that people don’t only notice flaws, that I’m insulting, etc etc. In the video I am simply talking about when you want to have crazy eyeshadow or a bright bold lip color. I go out all the time with no makeup on, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but if you are going to go all out with your makeup, I am a firm believer in having a even flawless looking skin to go with it, even if you don’t have that naturally. You most likely wouldn’t paint a picture on a canvas that was dirty, but a fresh, clean one, right? That’s the message I was trying to get across.

  • Don’t forget Moisturizer/sunscreen!
  • Eye Cream is super important for diminishing under eye circles/puffiness, and also helps concealer go on nice.
  • I use a lighter, pink toned concealer under eyes
  • Use a concealer that is exactly the same tone/color as your skin for blemishes and spots
  • Set with a light powder

Hope this is helpful!

Don’t let the overly sensitive commenters get you down! Most of those comments sound like they’re just looking to complain about their skin problems rather than actually fix them. I have really terrible skin (dry, bad acne, red blotches, giant pores) but instead of getting sensitive about it I work on it. If I’m feeling self-conscious about my skin I just put on makeup. I haven’t gone outside without base makeup on for at least a year and sometimes I don’t even put anything else on, I just slap on some foundation and head out.

That said, I really liked this video. :) I’ve recently been having problems with lines under my eyes and none of the products I’ve used have really helped the problem. Do you have an recommendations?

I have the same problem as Kallen, I have these weird lines under my eyes and it looks icky =[

But I totally agree with you about the flawless skin… especially when you’re super pale like me (MUFEHD110 – even in the summer!) and EVERY. SINGLE. TINY. FLAW. SHOWS. D8 *die*

Oh yeah, for sure flawless (or at least flawless LOOKING skin) is so important when you do a bold look! Like Kit said; especially when you’re SUPER pale and see-through NW15 is sometimes too dark for me :S Thanks for the tips Leesha!

    That’s silly.

However, your skin looks amazing in that video. I remember a few months ago you were talking about it going crazy – what’s your secret? You look luminous.

I don’t understand why people freak and be insulted by that i mean…it’s totally true that people focus on flaws! People say that i’m fat and ugly but it don’t make me sad anymore i don’t care much about what they think because i’m not going to see them in the future…You’re my favorite beauty guru and i made a video on youtube of the looks i made can you tell me your advice please?? (don’t mind the quality)

I was just wondering if you still use your Mario Badescu Products? Your skin looks pretty flawless. O and do you know if they are still doing the free samples if you fill out the questionaire. Thanks! Bye

You are amazing and I totally agree with everyone else who posted a comment! Every bit of advice you gave on that video is true and I guess a lotta people have too much insecurities that they took it in a bad way.. Anyways, dont let it get to you and more videos please on how to achieve a great-looking skin! :) Thanks!

Okay, for anyone who decided to post rude things to Leesha about this video, she was not doing it to be insulting… She was doing it so that you wouldn’t go out looking like a used up street walker. She didn’t have to post this vid, and you should be grateful that she takes the time to do them. It ticks me off when people go off on people when they’re trying to be helpful, so for those of you out there with less than perfect skin that decided to react harshly, GROW UP and SHUT UP.

LOVE YOU, LEESHA! (In a not gay way)
Keep doing what you’re doing, I love your vids, and am so glad that I have the privilege of seeing your work.

i agree with you Sadie i mean most people can be bothered doing videos every week, using her make up and time to help you. So just leave Leesha alone and nobody has perfect skin so don’t worry if yours isn’t.
I too appreciate your work and love your videos.

Some of you guys’ questions may have already been answered, but I just wanted to add that for those of you that get those weird under-eye lines, the Maybelline Super Stay 24 hour concealer works really well for me! Just make sure to only use a little bit and pat it with your finger to blend.
