[VIDEO] Too Faced Peanut Butter & Honey Palette Review + Swatches

Too Faced has a new palette out- The Peanut Butter & Honey Palette! This eyeshadow palette is all about that theme- focusing on warm, orangey browns and a bold, delicious golden yellow.

Too Faced Peanut Butter and Honey Palette

The palette features nine eye shadows separated in to three “looks”- Sweet as Honey, Queen Bee, and PB&H. These each include a highlight shade and three shadows that work well together in a look. The palette also comes with a mini look book that shows how to achieve a look with each of the sections.

The palette includes some hits and misses, which unfortunately is relatively common with Too Faced palettes. The highlight shades really fell flat- some were not pigmented at all, and the one that really was ended up being a really weird muted beige (I compared it to wallpaper paste, eek!). The shade “Going Nuts” was another let down for me- it’s a brownish burgundy shade with bright violet shimmer. This shade isn’t necessarily bad, but it doesn’t fit in to the palette well enough. It seems that it was put there to be a darker shade to round out the palette, but the undertone being so cool toned in an otherwise very warm palette left me wondering what to do with it and how to incorporate it.

The star of the palette comes from the shade Honey Buns, which is the bright, golden yellow on the bottom row. This shade is beautiful and quite unique- it’s not a bold, neon yellow, but a true honey shade and adds a beautiful pop of color to an otherwise relatively basic palette.

Overall, I think this palette is worth a look at the very least. I can see it being a bit of a challenge to those who are not super makeup savvy (A lot of people will look at the bright yellow and not have a clue how to use it because it is quite unique) But I think it’s a really cute palette and despite it’s misses, I do like it and plan to use it in a few more looks that will be posted here.

What are your thoughts? Will you be picking up the PB&H Palette?
