Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadows- My New Favorite Thing EVER

I wish you guys could have seen me when I opened the package that these were mailed in- there was quite a bit of jumping up and down in excitement! These are the newest eyeshadows from Urban Decay, and they’re SOOOO COOL! They’re called Moondust Eyeshadows, and they’re suuuuper shimmery, sparkly, lush shadows that have iridescent sparkle and 3-D Metallics, so the effect is very similar to sun-on-water (I hope that makes sense?! When I look at these I immediately think of how the sun looks reflecting off a lake, haha!) Check out photos below!

UDMoondust 1UDMoondust 3 The packaging on these is also different from UD’s traditional packaging- the compact is a pale silver instead of the usual gunmetal, so they are easy to spot.

UDMoondust 5 Space Cowboy Moondust EyeshadowUDMoondust 14Space Cowboy Moondust Eyeshadow
Space Cowboy is a light champagne shade with loooaaaads of sparkle. The base color here is really fairly light, especially with the silver sparkle on top.

UDMoondust 11Diamond Dog Moondust EyeshadowUDMoondust 15Diamond Dog Moondust Eyeshadow
Diamond Dog is a medium brown with white-gold sparkle. This photographed really light, I remember it having a slightly darker base color in person.

UDMoondust 6Stargazer Moondust EyeshadowUDMoondust 16Stargazer Moondust Eyeshadow
Stargazer is a gorgeous green-gold shade with gold sparkle. This has less of that sun-on-water look I mentioned and more of a sparkle effect.

UDMoondust 7Zodiac Moondust EyeshadowUDMoondust 17Zodiac Moondust Eyeshadow
Zodiac is probably my favorite shade here. Black base with blue green sparkle and duochrome. The photos don’t do this shade justice, it kinda reminds me of an oil spill. so much shimmer!

UDMoondust 8Moonspoon Moondust EyeshadowUDMoondust 18Moonspoon Moondust Eyeshadow
Moonspoon is a medium gray with silver sparkle. LOADS of sparkle in this one!!

UDMoondust 9Intergalactic Moondust EyeshadowUDMoondust 19Intergalactic Moondust Eyeshadow
Intergalactic makes me want to listen to the Beastie Boys. aaaaanyways.. this is a medium purple/lilac with silver sparkle.

UDMoondust 10Glitter Rock Moondust EyeshadowUDMoondust 20Glitter Rock Moondust Eyeshadow
Glitter Rock  is a metallic pink with bright pink sparkle.

These are all super soft shadows with a creamy texture that apply just like your regular powdered eyeshadows. My only complaint (and it’s something thats inevitable) is that every time I would remove a swatch, my arm would get all the micro sparkle everywhere, and I was feeling a bit like a Twilight Vampire. The sparkle stays put when you put the shadow on, but just be aware when you’re taking your makeup off- you might look like you are channeling a Cullen!
Also, because of their texture these shadows would awesome when used wet! The shadow itself won’t harden up like traditional powders. And if you use them wet, the sparkle is INSANELY more prominent.

These don’t seem to be available yet, but will be available for $20 each from Urban Decay.

Ugh, more sparkles? UD needs more mattes!!

I totally agree about more mattes! these are definitely different from UD’s usual chunky monkey glitter, though, so at least there’s that!

are you shure about the price? 20$ for one eyeshadow? I mean they are gorgeous, but that’s kind of pricy…

yeah, that is the right price. Their regular eyeshadows are $18, so its $2 more.

Ohhh these are pretty. The gold and silver look suspiciously like the duo pot released in the Glinda palette… hmm. Would be interesting to see a comparison.

Look like they might apply similarly to Provocateur from the Vice palette? Love that shadow, hate the fallout xD Sticky base ftw!

I’m not home at the moment to check for sure, but I’m thinking the duo in the Glinda palette is a lot more pigmented and less shimmery than these.. more frosty and darker.

Ohh yeah, looking at them side by side, these are definitely a ton more glittery and the others more pigmented. Must test these in the store to check fallout-ness. Chunky glitters always make me wary, even with a good sticky base.

haha, I’m glad you understand! sometimes I’m afraid the way I describe things will confuse people more than anything else!

Zodiac looks gorgeous and so unique! I don’t usually go for such glittery shades but that one is just amazing.

These are sooo cool! O_O Is the fallout worse than the regular UD eyeshadows?

When I swatched them at Ulta the fallout was ridiculous. It immediately turned me off to these.
