Tarte Cheek Stains- New Design & NEW Shade

By  |  10 Comments

I am not well-versed in the world of Cheek Stains- I have owned a few, but never really got on board with them. I have always been a powder bush girl, but these may change my mind!

These cheek stains have a jelly-like opacity to them. They aren’t overly pigmented, and apply just a nice flush of color (with a touch of shimmer in some of them). To apply, you can either swipe some on your cheek from the container, or use your fingers to pat it on, and then blend it out with either a brush or your fingers. Make sure to do this just over liquid foundation, and before you use any powder (if you use these over powder it will not apply evenly or blend!)

Tarte has given their Cheek Stains a bit of a packaging makeover, and added a new shade (Blushing Bride) to celebrate their 15 year anniversary. Below I have swatches and photos of all the cheek stains, let me know what ones you have used and your thoughts on cheek stains in the comments!

I suck at blush, but the Sephora lady talked me into ‘True Love’ a few months back and it’s pretty much foolproof. Absolutely love it. I wear it with the Laura Mercier illuminating tinted moisturizer and they work really well together.

I own 2 of these in the old packaging and they’re amazing and well worth the price. While the new packaging is adorable, they are about half the size and still the same price. I’m not too happy about that. Thankfully these last forever and I still have plenty.

I am a huge fan of the tarte cheek stain! it is, hands down, my favorite blush product ever! I have been wearing the color “tickled” for about 13 years now, and was super bummed when they discontinued it. can anyone recommend a good dupe?

I’m on your page in the first place because my dog just ate my Tarte cheek stain (Grrrr). I have one of the older containers and it lasted so long that the writing wore off and I don’t even remember what color it was. Thank you. Your swatches helped me figure it out without having to go to a store. I think it was the Natural Beauty shade. I love this cheek stain. Every other kind makes my skin break out, is drying and feels heavy. I don’t like to look like Im wearing make up so this looks as close to a natural blush as I’m going to get.
