Stila Smudge Sticks- Turquoise & Periwinkle

By  |  5 Comments

I’m a sucker for unique shades of eyeliner. There’s about a billion versions of dark browns, blacks, and blues, so when I see something that’s really different, I get super excited.

Stila Smudge Sticks are amazing eyeliners, and so when I saw these two shades it was basically an insta-buy! These also come as liquid eyeliner pens, but I was advised not to get them and to get these instead (I was told they were really watery and weren’t as pigmented as these. Bummer, because I’d LOVE to use these, especially Turquoise, as a liquid liner!)

Turquoise is freaking amazing, but I’m sure you gathered that from the swatch. I don’t think the color is quite turquoise, though. To me its a bit more vibrant than what I associate the shade turquoise with (and I’m not complaining!!) It kinda reminds me of a greenish cyan.

Periwinkle is also a little different than what I associate the shade name with, leaning more on the blue than purple side. It reminds me more of a cornflower blue, but I guess that’s not as pretty of a name as periwinkle :)

Reguardless of the shades not exactly matching their names (at least to me!) These are awesomely pigmented and super vivid. I can’t wait to use these in looks!

Available for $20 from Sephora (Periwinkle only). Stila seems to be sold out of Turquoise but I did find it on Macys!

I love the turquoise and have been using it pretty much non-stop since buying it last month. All the eye-brightening/enlarging effects of a white eyeliner (on the waterline) but with the fun of it being a color. :D

I love them both! The Turquoise is definitely not what I think of when I hear Turquoise. More of a mint to me.

I think the turquoise liquid liner is JUST as pigmented! LOVE IT for spring/summer!

I bought the periwinkle one but in the liquid eyeliner version. I don’t think it is watery at all and I love using it with a bit of glitter and mascara. (:
