Proactiv Refining Mask Review
You know those times when your skin just decides to rebel, from what seems like out of nowhere? That was me this past weekend. My skin has been really great the past few months; few breakouts and overall pretty clear and nice. This past weekend I was home for my mom’s 50th birthday party (which was a blast!) and since I was only home for a few days and was just going to my parents’ house, I didn’t want to pack much as far as skincare goes because I didn’t want to check a bag, and those quart-sized bags can only hold so much! (I’m waiting for a company to make a travel kit with tiny 1oz sized bottles. every company always sells the travel bottles as 3oz, its too big and takes up way too much room!)
Anyways, My skin was definitely not a fan of this idea. By Sunday I had at least 5 or 6 cystic blemishes, which are those annoying under-the-skin ones that hurt really bad and you just have to wait for them to decide to leave.
My flight landed at midnight last night, and right when I got home I washed my face and grabbed this stuff- the Proactiv Refining Mask. I dabbed it on all of the cystic bumps and left it on overnight, and my skin has already improved!
The Refining Mask has a good percentage of Sulfer in it, which is actually really helpful for cystic acne. The one problem I have with this is that it doesn’t ever fully dry (like a clay mask would), which is only really a tiny problem if you are planning to use it overnight like I do. A little also goes a long way, which is nice because it’s a 3.5oz tube at $28, so it will last quite a long time.
