Nubar Collection Swatches

By  |  23 Comments

I decided this week that it would probably be a good idea to swatch my entire nail polish collection. I really got into nail polish last year, and when I ‘get into’ something, I tend to go overboard right away and buy a lot of said thing really fast! That being said, I have collected quite a few polishes in the last year, and tend to just swatch them on a random nail board, put them on my nail rack.. and there they sit. I have a few that I use more often than the rest, but there are a lot that haven’t really even been worn besides once or twice, if that! I decided that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to swatch all my polishes, so I’m doing it by brand!

First I wanted to share was my polish collection from Nubar, as it is by far includes some of my favorite polishes! I was always a bit weary about buying Nubar polishes, because they’re a bit expensive, but I’m glad I did!

I’m sad you can’t really show duochrome in photos, because Gold Leaf, Purple Beach, and Peacock feathers are all super cool polishes with weird, awesome duochromes. Gold Leaf has a nice almost cranberry duochrome to it, purple beach seems to have a greenish duochrome, and Peacock Feathers (the coolest one of the three) is purple, or green,or blue (its definitely WAY more purple than that picture is making it look!!)

I also realized as I grabbed these off my polish rack to put the names on here: I didn’t swatch the COOLEST sparkle one of all: Violet Sparkle! It’s a true, bright purple, with so much sparkle. It’s SUPER pretty! Guess this means I’ll have to buy some more Nubar shades to start another nail swatch wheel :)

Oo, I love some of these! I do not have ANY Nubar polishes yet. Which is very sad. Thanks for these swatches, they are helpful in deciding what to get. Or totally not helpful in making me stick to my polish budget, whichever way you want to look at it. :)

I think Gem and Jewel are next on my list- I’m wearing Reclaim right now! Love how smooth & opaque they apply. If I can get longer than 2-3 days wear out of it, I’m stocking up!

I just swatched all my nail polish collection (and it is considerable) to nail wheels too, and realized I hardly ever use more than two or three of them! I have to start experimenting more :D

GORGEOUS! I have to ask – do the sparkly polishes feel gritty once they’re on your nails? They look so beautiful, but I just hate that gritty feeling. Thank you for swatching all of those!!!

Where did you get the fake nail disk thing? I have WAY too much nail polish and it would be great to have some of those disks so I can quickly and easily find the perfect nail polish for any given day.
