Nails: OPI DS Magic & Step 2 the Beat of My ♥

I know virtually nothing about Justin Beiber. I’ve never listened to a song of his by choice, and the really the only time I can remember hearing him was at a movie theater, and I followed the cliche role of someone who doesn’t know who he is and had mistaken his song for a girl. I will say, though, that they had a little preview of his movie during a commercial on Pretty Little Liars last night, showing how at each concert they choose a girl from the crowed to go up and be serenaded too for a certain song, and I was in total AWWW mode, hahah. It was cute, the girls were so starstruck.

Anyways, I had heard about his collection from Nicole by OPI and wanted to check it out, and ended up getting about 4 of the polishes. Today I’m showing you Step 2 the Beat of My ♥, which is a clear polish with dispersed glitter and purple and pink hearts, over OPI DS Magic.

First off, I absolutely love the OPI DS Magic polish. I love all the Designer Series polishes from OPI, they’re all really unique and beautiful. This one is a deep ocean blue with purple and lighter blue shimmer to it.

Step 2 the Beat of my ♥ has a cool sparkle to it, but getting a heart on the brush takes a little effort, To be honest I kinda wish I didn’t pick this up, as it’d be easier and cheaper to just get some nail art brushes and some heart sequins from a nail shop, and put them on top of a polish. you get better control of how the hearts look that way, and the colors that are chosen.

Yeah, I really wish that some of those confetti polishes had a better turn out. They so pretty in the bottle and then fall flat when you put them on. The DS polishes are bitchin’ though. :)

Does this OPI DS Magic polish look anything like Lunar Eclipse from the Orly Cosmix collection?

Haha, I totally love Justin. Not in a girly crush kind of way (I’m 26, ick), but he just seems like a cool kid. I can’t say I wish he was my little bother, though, because I already have a pretty good little bro. That said, my WalMart was OUT of his polishes. I was going to actually get one of them, anything really! but they had nada. I think I’ll skip the confetti one, though. I kind of like the randomness of the positioning, but I’m pretty darn lazy and any work is too much.

I started following your youtube and blog pages last year and I love your posts! Everything is so bright and cheerful and you’re very honest. I got the purple and pink heart polish as well but like you also not into the Justin Bieber craze lol. I think some of the money goes to one of his orgs, “…is helping Justin raise awareness and funds for a nonprofit organization close to Justin’s heart, called Pencils of Promise (PoP). PoP helps to build schools and increase educational opportunities in the developing world. Justin has joined together with PoP to build 100 schools for children around the world with the help of young people everywhere.”

i had a nicole by opi “color” similar to this only it had pink and red hearts…. either way my mom and i found it easy to pull the hearts out on the bristles then use a toothpick to grab it and place it where you wanted it… then once it dried just used the sparkles in the polish to seal it on as a topcoat…
everytime i hear the name of this polish i get “somebody to love” in my head… and i dont mind it at all hahaha

I have similar heart nail polishes from Nicole by OPI. It really is hard to get the hearts from the bottle to the brush and then your nail; it’s even harder to take OFF the hearts too! They stay on like stickers, but I still love them! ^_^

Neat blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere?

A design like yours with a few simple tweeks would really
make my blog shine. Please let me know where you got your design. Bless you
