Milani One-Coat Glitter in Purple Gleam

By  |  20 Comments

I was at CVS the other day and saw a few of these One-Coat Glitter polishes from Milani and decided to pick some up. They’re so pretty!!

Unfortunately I can’t get a pretty picture of the bottle because that particular CVS (dunno if all do this) decided to put an ugly sticker on basically ever item in the store. That would be fine, except this sticker doesn’t peel off easily, it breaks off piece by piece. so,you get a side view!

This is with two-coats, but the glitter is definitely pretty opaque with one, I just always do two coats because I want to make sure it looks good in photos.

I believe this was around $5-6.

I love your blog posts. They’re always so well organized, and clear without going into a lot of detail. (:

I saw this color the other day, and wanted to pick it up (after doing some online research), and completely forgot about it until now.

Keep up the flawless work! :D

I just bought this polish last week and love it. You’re right, it’s opaque in 1 coat, but removal is NOOOOO fun. I couldn’t believe how nice it looked.

Did you find that yours dried down to almost a matte sparkle effect? It seemed so odd; from far away it looked sparkly, but up close it didn’t have a lot of shine. I debated on using a topcoat for the shine, but worried it would make the polish too thick on my nail.

YES! I always do a topcoat, and find especially with glitter polishes it makes it a MILLION times sparklier.

Also, as for removal, with glitter polishes I tend to just pick the color off because removing them is such a pain, BUT my friend brooke did a video showing how she does it- she soaks a cotton ball in acetone, puts one on each nail and covers each nail with aluminum foil so the cotton pad stays put, and leaves it for 5 mins, then the polish comes RIGHT off, no working to remove it :) I would do this but my cuticles tend to be crappy, and acetone on broken skin is PAAAINFUL!

If you take a piece of felt dipped in acetone glitter comes right off,and it doesnt fall apart like cotton balls so no mess! I pretty much exclusively wear glitter polish so its a life saving tip :)

I bought the red one the other day at work (I work at CVS, haha). Two coats did the trick. And in yellow-y light, it almost looked like it had a golden shimmer!

Oh, and for the record, we have to put those stickers on everything. They pretty much make us so people have a harder time stealing or reselling elsewhere. Sometimes it’s SUPER hard to find a place to put them that doesn’t cover names/ingredients/directions. D:

i have been searching for these polishes for 3 weeks now. the cvs and target in cedar park BOTH dont have them yet. the cvs employees are prolly getting annoyed by me with how many times i’ve gone in to check if they had them.

Oh, I like that. I might have to go out and buy a few if they look like that. I usually don’t like Milani products.

Btw, that sticker will come off with Alcohol and Elbow Grease!

nail polish remover will get rid of the sticker. Especially on glass. :)

I was actually going to take a picture of the ones I got and send it to you, but I never got the chance! I really love the amount of glitter this nailpolish contains as opposed to the polishes where all of the glitter sticks to the bottle.

The sticker is a loss prevention tactic to keep patrons from shoplifting. That’s why they are hard to get off! That color is fantastic!

CVS does the stickers like that as an anti-theft thing. It’s not supposed to be easy to peel off so it makes it more difficult if someone decides to steal it and then bring it back to another store to return it without a receipt. They’re supposed to use it on anything they think will be high theft, and cosmetics is reaaaaaaaly high theft.

    Obviously I work at CVS.

Anyway, I got this in gold and I adore it. I wanted it in red but we sold out almost immediately. Hopefully we get more.
