MAC Semi Precious Collection MSF: Semi Precious Rose Quartz, Semi Precious Pearl

MAC released four new Mineralized Skinfinishes, or MSFs, with their Semi Precious collection this year. Each one has a shimmery outside with a multi-colored center that is fashioned to look like a gemstone pressed right in the middle. I have two of these MSFs to share with you:  Semi Precious Rose Quartz and Semi Precious Pearl.

These are very different than the normal MSFs that MAC releases. Generally, the color is either a smooth, single color as the outside of these are, or it is slightly mixed, not as drastic as the center of Semi Precious Pearl, maybe somewhere in the middle of the two centers, but they have never had two separate areas like this as far as I’m aware. I like that it gives you the option to do something subtle, drastic, or right in the middle. Semi Precious Rose Quartz could work beautifully as a bright blush from the outside color, a champagne cheek highlight from the center, or a nice, bright pale pink blush if the two are mixed. Semi Precious Pearl is a beautiful highlight, bronzer, or could even work as a blush when mixed (or an eyeshadow!) My favorite of the two is Semi Precious Rose Quartz.

These will be available for $28 each July 7th from MAC Cosmetics.

I’m never absolutely sure what to do with a MSF… Is it a blush? An all over glow? A setting powder? A bronzer? A highligher? LOL! I guess it can be anything :3

I love how versatile this can be and I love how they smushed a lot of colors in the MSF for even MORE versatility!

Love your swatches, they’re some of the best I’ve seen for these! I ordered these when the collection went up on the regular MAC site. I’m a sucker for MSF. I love how versatile this batch seems to be.
