MAC In Extra Dimension Collection Eyeshadows- DUOCHROMES!!!

I. LOVE. DUOCHROMES.

Shocked? I know. It’s not like I use them in almost every single tutorial I do. Ever. Not at all.

So, as you can imagine, when I opened my goodies from the MAC In Extra Dimension Collection, two specific products immediately caught my eye and caused me to slightly freak out. Lots of eyeshadows have duochromes, but I feel like its a lot more uncommon for companies to make ones on a white base, so the color shift is suuuuuper prominent. I don’t get it because it looks AMAZING on its own or over another color (uh, over black? are you kidding me? insane.)

I have three of the new eyeshadows from this collection, and thankfully two of them are those badass white duochromes I was talking about. check it out!

Extra Silver is an extremely metallic silver. Used wet, you really get that crazy metallic look, which is so so fun. I want to use this for a super glam smokey eye.

Macinextradimensiones 2Zesty Extra Dimension Eyeshadow- Wet (top), Dry (Bottom)
Zesty is a white with lime green shimmer. First of all, can the name of this shadow get any better? It makes me want key lime pie. The lime green duochrome here is pretty prominent both wet and dry. I want to live inside this color forever.

Macinextradimensiones 5Opalesse Extra Dimension Eyeshadow

Macinextradimensiones 1Opalesse Extra Dimension Eyeshadow- Wet (top), Dry (Bottom)
Opalesse is a white with a reddish pink shift. This one isn’t as pigmented as Zesty (boo) but is still gorgeous. Again, using wet or dry didn’t seem to make a huge pigmentation difference, but using these over a white/black base would for sure!

Overall I love the duochromes. The silver is super nice too, but chances are you already own something similar (I know I do!) Generally I only see duochromes like this as loose pigments, so I can’t help but get excited when they’re pressed shadows!!

Available for $21 each from MAC Cosmetics

Really pretty, but I wished you would have done some swatches of the duocromes over white or black or even coloured bases. Would the colourshift show up nicely over other colours? I am thinking maybe zesty over purple of a light lilac? If that works nicely I might consider splurging on these, I really want some nice duocromes but I can’t afford a lot of makeup and maybe this would be a nice way to make my exsisting collection a little more varied.

Glad I just bought the Naked Ivory stack a little while ago, or I would need to grab these. And the Naked gives you 6 shadows for the price of 3 of these! Yay deals! Well, not really a deal, but it’s easier to justify buying more makeup when it sounds like a deal xD
