If I’m being honest, MAC Holiday sets generally give me an underwhelming sense of “meh”. They’re always the same in some different packaging, and the packaging is usually some weird pattern or something that I personally am not into. This year, though, I have to say I’m actually a fan of what I have seen! I LOVE bows and tufted patterns, though, so considering that is the bulk theme of the collection it really doesn’t surprise me.
The first set I’m going to show you is called the All for Glamour Kits. I have the Face Kit in Gorgeous Bronze and the Touch Up Kit in Medium Dark.
The kits come in an oval package with a tufted top and a really cute square bow on the rim.
They close magnetically, but it’s hard to tell at first. I almost broke it thinking the bow was some form of a latch; it isn’t!
Here is the Gorgeous Bronze Face Kit. Bronzer, three shadows, a duo brush with an eyeshadow side and a lip side..
and a peek-a-boo area with two lip colors! I love that the lip section has a cover.
Next kit is the touch up kit. I was sent the Medium Dark kit, which as you can probably guess concerned me, considering I make the twilight vampires look tan.
This kit comes with a blot powder in Medium-Dark, a powder puff, and a Sheen Surpreme Lipstick in Bare Again.
Once I realized that it was a blot powder, I thought it was kinda silly to refer to this as a Medium-dark kit. Blot powder is invisible, even if it looks like it isn’t (MAC literally makes it look a bit darker because most people with darker skin tones wouldn’t go near a powder that was paper-white, even if it promised to be transparent). The lipstick is totally wearable for just about any skin tone, too.
See that tiny bit of powder on the bottom? That’s Medium-dark powder on my INNER arm, which is even paler than the rest of me. The color really doesn’t make a difference.
Now for the prices- $49.50 for the Gorgeous Bronze Face Kit, and $39.50 for the Touch Up Kit. This is a high price to me, especially that Touch Up kit.
Just doing some research- a full size blot powder is 12g of product for $24, and you’re getting 5g here. The lipstick is full size, is permanent, and costs $16. So pretty much you’re paying the same price for two items and getting less than half of one of them. just for some pretty packaging. Honestly, opt out of the pretty packaging and buy it the regular way.
