Little Lush Haul!

Yesterday my friend Charlee and I went to the Lush in downtown Austin to pick up a few things, and I figured we might as well do a haul video to share! :) Charlee picked out some bath products, while I went to Twitter and asked for some recommendations on what to get, as I always love trying out things you guys love! I spent around $100 (it goes FAAAST in that store!) and I think Charlee spent around $20ish. Here’s the video and a shot & list of the products I picked up!

Sunny Side Bubble Bar
Rose Jam Bubbleroon Bubble Bar
Dragons Egg Bath Bomb

It’s Raining Men Shower Gel
Herbalism Cleanser
Mint Julips Lip Scrub
Tea Tree Water Toner
Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner
Love Lettuce Fresh Face Mask (Review Here)
Cupcake Fresh Face Mask (Review Here)

Let me know any products you think I should check out next time! :) I’m not much for bath products (I always get them and then never use them) so preferably skin and hair :D

What makes you say that David? I’d really like to hear why you say that since I’ve gone to school for skin care and I think otherwise.

      • David says:

well, seeing as how Lush loads their skin care with volatile oils and extracts that have been known to cause irritation in skin, it isn’t the best option for skin.

        • Jenny says:

Well that would explain why my skin feels all “itchy” or irritated. My brother gave me the charcoal soap, tea tree water toner, and ocean salt for Christmas (the sales associate told him that it was recommended for acne prone skin). Tried it hoping that it would clear my skin up. I notice after awhile until now that my skin is red and and still acne prone :( The only thing I’m gonna keep is the ocean salt for the body only and not the face.

I completely agree with you. It’s scary how much the average consumer doesn’t know about beauty products. As a cosmetologist I cringe at some of the things my clients are using.

    • Melissa says:

David, I think you’re slightly off base saying that there’s nothing good about the skin care products. I understand your point about irritation and potentially harmful ingredients, but not everyone is effected by those and for people that aren’t, there ARE some benefits there too (if there weren’t, Leesha wouldn’t buy them for herself). I don’t think what you’re saying is wrong, I just don’t think it’s the whole story.

    • David says:

really? then you know that the angels on bare skin can cause contact dermatitis over time and cell death because lavender is cytotoxic, and that the tea tree toner can cause irritation on skin because of the juniper and grapefruit it contains (although tea tree is good for oily skin pairing it with the latter isn’t going to do skin any favors)

      • David says:

although I stand corrected; there is some research showing that Lavender may have some antifungal properties shown here he New Ideal in Skin Health: Separating Fact from Fiction, Thornfeldt, Carl M.D., Allured Books, 2010, pages 286–287

Oooo I’m really interested in the masks. One day I’ll have to drag myself to the store, and probably spend all my money haha

Just so you know, you forgot to list the “Raining Men” one, and also I’m wondering if you will be reviewing these? :)

  2. Mim says:

I wish I could be as excited about Lush as you but find that the smells are too overpowering and none of the skin care products produce any results.

The only thing I like are the bath bombs- which I have to store in an airtight container so that my entire house does not smell like fragrance.

    • Aly says:

Have you tried their buffy bar?
I personally like it for the my skin for exfoliating it. According to the salespeople, it lasts like 3 months for the smaller bar. It doesn’t really smell like too much of anything for me.

(I’ve tried homemade scrubs and they just make my skin feel weird…)

  3. Laura says:

Ooh I really want to try some face masks from Lush. What ones would you recommend?? i’ve never tried any! Oh you should get Creamed Almond and Coconut Shower Smoothie the next time, smells amazing!!:):) xxx

  4. Brittney says:

You need to try Sabon ! It’s Lush’s rival : ) I work at a Sabon in Manhattan and I love their products. Lush [even before i worked for Sabon] always made my skin very blotchy and red. Check out the website, ! by the way, love all your reviews and videos ! : D

  5. Sandi says:

I know you said you don’t use bath products, but if you haven’t tried it yet then you have to get Honey I Washed the Kids soap. It smells good in the store but even better in the shower!

  6. Rachel says:

In spite of not being in to bath products I STRONGLY recommend the Cocoa and Yuzu bubbleroon. The one your friend had, the Rose Jam is not bad either, I personally am just not fan of rose scented anything.
The bubbleroons are aMAYYYzing though. They have essential oils plus bubble bar goodness. So they are special from the regular bubblebars. They’re more like the bath melts mixed with bubblebars. And the Cocoa and Yuzu one is simply heaven on earth. It smells like It’s Raining Men mixed with Honey I Washed the Kids, my two favorites!

Also, for face products. I really like Jackie Oats color supplement. I use it as a tinted moisturizer mostly, but I also will use it under foundation as a basic moisturizer on days I need heavier coverage. Oftentimes I can fore go using concealer all together using that combination and it’s not nearly as heavy as the latter option!

Eau Roma Water is EXCELLENT! I have really pain in butt skin because of having Lupus SLE. Anything will piss it off. But since I began using Eau Roma Water in conjunction with my long time favorite Fresh Farmachy, my skin has never looked so good in all my 31 years. It’s totally my HG for washing and toning routing.

And lastly…those toothy tabs! Holy crap as those things cool! I was a complete skeptic at first. I mean seriously…a pill instead of tooth paste? But these things are as good, and better than what Lush claims. I love the Atomic, Breath of God, and Dirty flavored ones. They are nothing like minty tooth paste. And they really surprised me honestly. They’re just these soft little pills that you chew up with your front teeth until you get a pasty consistency, then you brush your teeth as usual. But the flavors offered, the lack of packaging, the type of renewable/recyclable packaging and the good for your body and teeth ingredients sold me.
Atomic tastes exactly like a chai tea latte! No joke. Breath of God is this herbally, fresh taste, but not so herbal it’s like brushing with a handful of dirt. And dirty is a super clean and invigorating taste. And ALL of them leave your teeth super clean and your breath smelling great.

I love Ro’s Argan. I thought it was a bit pricey, but I caved and love it!

I like Dark Angels cleanser for a good scrub, and I want to try 9 to 5 cleanser since I’m very lazy with my skin (meaning that I only wash it in the shower, which is every other day).

Right now, I’m absolutely loving A Million Kisses lip tint, which I think is a limited edition product for Valentine’s Day. The color and texture of the product is absolutely terrific! That’s the one product I’d really recommend for you to pick up next time.

I also love Wiccy Magic Muscles massage bar (great for sore muscles, and makes you smell like cinnamon), Imperialis moisturizer (I like it a lot for my combo skin, it really balances it), Sexy Peel soap (I’m a sucker for citrus scents, though the fruit peels can be a little harsh), Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter (great for my dry hands during this Chicago winter), and MMM Melting Marshmallow Moment bath melt (smells great). The Brazened Honey fresh face mask is also great for stimulating my skin. It really makes it brighter.

  8. Liz says:

The sunny Side bubble bar makes the bath water amazingly pretty! It’s BS that you only get 2 uses. I got 6 out of mine! They just tell you that it’s only good for 2 uses so they can sell more.

The Rose Jam Bubbleroon Bubble Bar I got did not suds up hardly at all and the bubbles did not last. Idk if I got a bad batch or what. The first time I used half of one side. The second side I used a the whole other piece. Barely any bubbles.

  9. inadee says:

I have always really liked Lush but I’m disappointed by how much more expensive they are in the US compared to the UK. I am another fan of the Buffy Bar. I also loooove Handy Guranga hand cream. It’s great for foot rubs!

  10. David says:

really? what benefits would you be able to mention that are present in Lush’s skin care? And like many people Leesha might have just been subject to good marketing, word of mouth or any other way that we all get influenced to buy a product
