Leesha Loves: May Favorites

Already June?! Ahhh!!! This month will have a lot going on- I’m going to get myself back onto my schedule of having 2-3 videos a week, along with getting a schedule together for the blog, I have my first session of laser hair removal (I’m a bit nervous about this, but I got an awesome deal on Urban Dealights- $99 for six sessions! blasting that underarm hair away for good!), my 2nd facial in life (i know right) along with lightening my hair a bit more and working with some fantastic companies. Oh, and of course, IMATS!! I can’t believe it’s already time for IMATS LA. It’s going to be absolutely insane but I am extremely excited to see all my friends and hopefully some of you guys :)

May didn’t have as many Beauty favorites as I feel the other months have- probably because I’ve been using a lot of other products that have already been featured and haven’t been introduced to new products that really caught my attention! I did realize that I forgot one product I’ve been using all the time- Bumble & Bumble Texture Cream. It’s my first Bumble & Bumble Product, and it’s AWESOME for short hair! I use just a touch on damp hair- I flip my head over and put some on the under layer of hair and at the roots to give my hair some volume and make it messy :)

Products Mentioned in the Video:

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Spray: I use this on my roots when my hair is towel dried right out of the shower to help slightly lighten so the difference between my roots and the rest of my hair isn’t so drastic.

Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Bedaub: I did a special post for this product very recently, so of course it gets included in this list! Amazing, unique, must have!

Lancome Artliner in Beach Gem: Gorgeous Turquoise liquid liner with gold shimmer. LOVE!!

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Vegan Brushes: Some of my absolute favorite brushes. A bit pricey but AMAZING quality.

In The Mood Polishes: Nail Polishes that change color based on temperature! Really cool and pretty colors (Colors I have are the three “New” polishes- Ditsy, Guilty, and Naughty).

Movie: Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Book: The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

Thing: Keurig! Donut Shop K-Cup/ Gloria Jean’s Butter Toffee K-Cup (NOM!)

Recipe: Soft Pretzels

I use the John Frieda Go Blonder Lightening Shampoo and Conditioner and I love them as well! I might have to try the spray, for now I’ve been using good old lemon juice haha.

-Book is Wicked.. Most amazing book ever. I saw the play and after that I finally got the book (:

There are actually three other Mortal Instruments books (there are 4 total.) The fourth just came out in the begining of April. But they are great! I’m so excited they finally cast Jace!

I enjoyed the fact that you didn’t just talk about beauty. In may I really enjoyed Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini. I liked the mix of Greek mythology and contemporary.

I still one of the minority that has to read The Mortal Instruments as well as the Hunger Games, but hopefully one day.

Really interested to hear about how the laser hair removal goes! I know it’ll be a while before you finish the treatments and give it a few weeks to see how well it worked, but y’know…whenever it’s all said and done, do tell us about it!

  8. Katrina says:

Be careful with laser hair removal…NO sun on the underarms period or you will blister! I use to work for and do laser hair removal! :)

It is awesome if it works!!

Interested to hear how the laser hair removal goes! I’ve always wanted to try it but have been too chicken.

I really like the parts that aren’t makeup. A lot of makeup blogs get a little boring when it’s all makeup all the time. Plus it’s always nice to get to know the person a little bit that you spend so much time watching on the makeup videos.

ahhh! thanks so much for featuring ‘mood’ changing polishes! I’ve been wanting to try some out but didn’t want the Claire’s ones.. it’ll probably be a while before I get them, but I saved the site for later.

    Hi!

I have been following your blog for like a few weeks and I’ve started buying brushes and I notice that it’s much easier to apply make-up. I wonder though, I’m from Belgium and we don’t have that much MAC-stores so my brushes are by Rituals ans Gosh. I wanted to ask what you think about these brands?
I’m planning to buy MAC brushes as well but it’s not that easy to get to these stores over here so…
Let me know what you think ^^

no no no not a video intro! you’re like the only guru who didn’t have one and i loved that about you :(
good favourites though :) i really wanna try the cream pigments from illamasqua x

Oooh. There was a groupon a while back for the same deal in my area, but I didn’t act quickly enough. Hope it goes well for you, though.

I loved Pirates just for that fact of how many plot-holes it had (ended up writing a 7.5 page nitpicky rant about it on my blog ^.^). I still had fun, though, and the theater gave me a free temporary tattoo, the skull and crossbones from the movie, so that made it better :D

I also loved the new POTC film! Had so low expectations before I went in, but pleasantly surprised. Plus a bit of Johnny Depp never hurts, haha.
I want to recommend a tv-series for you, Leesha, and everybody else, if you haven’t seen it. It is called Game of Thrones, and I have been completely obsessed with it in May. A defiant must see =)
