Illamasqua Stagnate Nail Varnish

Another one from the gorgeous Toxic Nature collection from Illamasqua! This color is described as a gray mauve, which is pretty accurate. I’m honestly surprised that I like this one; it’s not a color I would generally gravitate toward as it’s a bit murky, but I assume that because of the whole idea behind the collection, that it’s “nature fighting back” and combines bright, vivid colors with muted, yet somewhat unique earth tones, gives it more appeal for me.

As all Illamasqua nail varnishes, this applies beautifully and even, and is opaque in 2 coats. In the artwork for this collection, one of the nail styles they seemed to do a lot was creating a french tip with one of the bright polishes and using a muted one as the base color, and I thought it was cool and weird. I think I might try using Radium on top of Stagnate and see what I think :)

Gorgeous! It also reminds me of Sephora by OPI’s On Stage, but without the really subtle shimmer in that one. I’m a fan of mauve-y colors, though I like them better in the fall and winter.

not really the kind of color i would usually like (i’m more into bright colors, or maybe less bright colors but with spakles osanother cool finish)
but i do like this one on you.

it’s a pretty color but as a nailpolish it reminds me of old ladies… maybe cuz my grandma wears this color on her nails alot? LOL I guess that would make her fashionable, then.
