Guest Look: MakeupByImani

By  |  11 Comments

Hey beautiful people! I am Imani Goodwin and am a beauty blogger and vlogger from sunny California! I am an aspiring makeup artist and love to do fun, dramatic look and get creative with color.

Read on to find out how I get this bright look.
“I wanna see ya pea cock, cock, cock, ya pea cock, cock.” With a line from Katy Perry’s “Peacock” and looking through some magazine pictures, I was inspired to create a gorgeous jeweled tone look with rich purples, greens, and blues. I created this whole look with the Manly 120 palette, so the look was pretty inexpensive. I know this look may be too bright for some, but I think it’s the perfect blend of color to make a bold statement.

You said you think this look may be too bright for some, but I actually like it because it’s NOT as bright as some similar looks that I’ve seen. A lot of looks have an almost “slap you in the face” bright color combination, but this doesn’t. It has all the same gorgeous colors of a lot of rainbow looks, but in slightly less neon shades. This seems to be a kind of deeper “bright” look, if that makes sense.
It also comes across as a bit more girly than some others I’ve seen for some reason.
Anyway, it looks great! I love the blending, and your lashes look SO pretty!

Once again, on a guest look here, I find myself saying: THIS is why makeup is about expression and not about hiding something. If anything, this SHOWS more because it obviously has personality!
