Guest Look: Katie

My name is Katie and I’m from New Jersey (not the fist pumping part, though).  I’ve been a makeup lover since middle school and now that I’m older it only means I can have more to play with!!

My look is from my Halloween costume this year:  a fox.  I looked at a number of different pictures and though I often associated foxes with having dark circles around their eyes, it appears that most only have a dark outline around their eyes (almost like a tightline).  I figured I would go a little more dramatic with the liner and make the eyes more orange/golden to match the rest of my costume!  Outside of the liner I feel like it’s a pretty wearable look.

hmmm… I can’t decide if I like this or not… I think it is the eyeliner that throws me off. But the eyeshadow itself is pretty.

  2. Jai says

Not sure if I like it. I think its the blush thats throwing me off. I do like the eyeshadow though

  3. Kim Teague says

I love the eyeliner and eyeshadow it’s gorgeous, personally I would have used a more nuetral/natural or dusty blush and maybe a different nude lipstick.
Overall I think this is pretty and I’d totally wear it…just with the toned down liner :)

  4. Cassie says

I like the bright blush. I’m sure that looked great with the costume.

  5. Destiny says

I think the eye makeup is pretty, but I definitely would’ve gone lighter on the blush and lipstick. This makes me wish I had submitted my “fox” makeup when I thought about it a few weeks ago! :P It’s similar to this, but much more wearable.

    1. Brooke says

i really like the blush..again, i think this is the look she wore with the costume, to give the full effect, ya could easily tone this down for an everyday wearable look..but i think the pics are just beautiful, artistic work

  7. Brooke says

katie, i think this look is amazing!! the liner is’s pure art! for those saying the liner’s too much, she said right in the intro that this was for a halloween could easily tone it down for an everyday look. i would totally rock these colors (and even the liner!) great work..and i think a fox is a really cool costume idea! x

Really great look! I love the eyeliner!

Leesha, I’ve been trying to tweet you about my guest look … I’m @SmartLeeshy on twitter. I just wanted to know if there was an issue with my pictures or something. Thanks!

Thanks for the constructive criticism and the comments! Like people have said, the look was for a costume and I most definitely wouldn’t wear THAT dramatic of liner on the regular (I’m sure the people at my work would absolutely have something to say about it if I did lol).

When it comes to Halloween I feel like that’s the only time that it’s “acceptable” to really amp up your makeup without people giving you weird looks so I wanted to play it up as much as possible.

    Thanks for featuring me, Leesha!!

  11. Lindsey says

I really like this… i wasn’t exactly sure what to expect when I first read that it was fox inspired, but it turned out really great! Great Job! :)
