FOTD: MAC Pastelluxe Pearlfusion is.. um..meh

So last week I got a couple of the Pearlfusion Shadow Palettes from MAC, and was curious about them immediately. they look so shiny, so sparkly, so fun!

I was excited because they looked like duochromes, and looked like they could be super fun to play with. When I first swatched them and did it over a white and black eyeliner, i was kinda disappointed, but thought that I might as well try it out in a look to see if you can even tell they are different colors.

I decided to use a black eyeliner as a base to try and make the colors stand out the most. Clearly you can see that didn’t work.

The look isn’t necessarily bad, but the palette is misleading as hell which really pisses me off. I was excited thinking MAC had come out with a palette of pressed duochrome pigments, and it’s just not translating. the shade on my lid is that middle pink shade, applied wet, over a black base. if that doesn’t translate the sparkly bright duochrome, nothing will.

boooo to this palette. Hopefully MAC will try something else soon in the realm of duochrome that I can be excited about!

I love your look but I’d definitely be disappointed with that palette.

You are deffinetly so talented, even with a disappointing pallette for MAC, but it’s awesome how you can make even something average look amazing. :)

I still think this looks beautiful on you even though they don’t live up to the claims

It’s pretty, but I don’t know why anyone would need to have all those shades together in one palette as they mostly look the same swatched!

I would like to replicate this look but I don’t have those type of eye shadow shades.
