Sunday Funday- Lattes and Workaholics

Happy Sunday! I figure Sundays are a good “week catchup” sort of day. I actually filmed TWO vlogs this week (I’m shocked myself, lets see if i actually upload both)- one of Chelsea and I making chocolate ice cream from scratch, and one of bringing kiki to the vet and having a pool day :) I am okay at remembering to film, i just hate editing! I’ll get over that though :)

Today has been a very lazy day! I kicked my ass at the gym on Friday and Saturday, and have been SOOO sore all day today. I suck at remembering to stretch, I really need to work on that because I know thats a huge factor in why my thighs are screaming at me every time i bend my knees today!

I started today off right- my first green smoothie in months! Here’s what went in it-

  • HUGE handful of baby spinach, blended with water
  • medium granny smith apple
  • pineapple chunks
  • frozen banana slices
  • greek yogurt
  • coconut water
  • chia seeds

And the result!

I added more liquid than usual, and I’m glad I did- when it comes to green smoothies I really prefer super thin consistency over thick smoothies. This was delicious, I will definitely be making this a morning staple :)

Next part of my day- Starbucks and Workaholics. I had a Sweet 15 postcard from Starbucks, so I got a free Venti Iced Caramel Latte, mmmm :) And Workaholics- I have a sick obsession with this show. I can’t explain it. I used to hate it, thought it was so stupid.. now I honestly can’t get enough of it.

He’s my favorite.

Their DVD has commentary on EVERY EPISODE- The main reason I bought it. Not only that, but they watch each season at once, and get drunker and drunker as the season progresses. They call it “drunkmentary”. It’s possibly the funniest thing I have ever listened to. I am a sucker for cast commentary, you feel like you are part of the group and you learn a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff. I just realize how forever alone that makes me sound.. oh well! Love em :)

Also part of my day today. Nothing like having a green face mask on while you clean your kitchen!

As far as books go, I’m months behind the bandwagon here but I decided to read this… per my mom’s recommendation. yeeeah. awkward. i don’t hate it but i mean awkward. haha

Benefit won all the awards this week for cutest PR packaging.. I can’t even. This is definitely winning a spot on my bookshelf, how cute is it?!

Okay, end random post! How was your weekend? I gotta leave in an hour to go over to my parents to watch True Blood with my brother.. I honestly don’t even remember what is going on in that show. Cheesy acting, commence!

     That smoothie sounds delicious! I use GreenSuperFood in mine. I also used to think Workaholics was dumb but now i can’t get enough! I’ll have to buy the DVD now for that Drunkmentary!

       i think thats just how that show is. my sister has been telling me for months how stupid it is, and then last week told me she had to watch the new episode “because it was on after Tosh and the tv was on” …yet she could quote things from the middle of the episode. huh. thats weird. :)

    I’ve been lurking on your site and youtube channel for 2 years and this is my first comment…ha! Anywho…your smoothie looks delish. Did you use your super blender (i forget what it’s called) to make it? Also, have you tried making any blended coffee drinks with the super blender? Hope you’re doing well. Have a good week :)

    I was just wondering, how long do you stay at the gym for when you go? And how much weight training vs. cardio do you do? You’re looking really great and you’re motivating me to get back into a healthy regime xx

       I feel like im there for around 1:30-2 hours. i usually do 45 mins cardio and then strength for the rest of the time, and always try and do some form of abs. I usually go with 2 other people and sometimes we take turns on the same machine, which is why its a bit longer than itd be if i was just alone

    I work at a bookstore and the owner always recommends we read the popular books like 20 Shades so we have more customer interactions. I’m in the middle of the second one and I can never get out of my head that it was formerly Twilight fanfiction and I’m dying laughing the entire time. Such awful writing, but hilarious.

      i keep reading it and forgetting that its NOT a fanfiction anymore and that it was actually published to be honest lol. its so obviously a twilight fanfic and they did nothing to hid that except very loosely change names and locations, but the locations are like ONE state away hahah. im assuming that the tabooness of it is what is making it so popular, but i still am surprised it got published

    My mom bought me Fifty Shades of Grey as well and I thought the same…awkward!  But I think my mom knew I needed something like that to take my mind away from all I’m dealing with right now in my own life.  I LOVED it!  I also went & bought the 2nd & 3rd books and finished them as well.  Just couldn’t put them down at all.  Now, I’m focused on finding MY Chrisitan Grey…HAHA!  Enjoy it Leesha & its great to have you back :)

    If you’re going to stretch for a work-out, remember to stretch before and afterwards ^.^ 
    I also learned that if you normally stretch every time and then stop it can have adverse effects! Be safe and healthy!

    Ah the weekend seems so far away already (first day back teaching after the holiday). Glad you’re back Leesha! I love Benfits packaging! It is so cute.
    I need to get more fruit and veg in my diet so I might use your smoothie reciepe; although I may use the concentrated/freezable version to avoid daily clean up and considering I am the first to be up and out in my house I dont think daily blending would go down too well. <3

    Did a lot for my husband for fathers day and my son and I cooked a huge Iranian dinner for him. Now today I am kaputz. Is that a real word? I don’t know but I have felt that way all day long.
    Just sayin’. Love your kitty I have 3 kitty’s and 6 bunny’s. Love animals. They don’t talk back or give you gruff and never tell your secrets.
