Guest Look- New Years Collage!

Happy 2012!!

I asked you all to send in your New Years makeup looks on my last video, and I got a TON of submissions!  I appreciate every single one of you that submitted, but unfortunately I couldn’t add every single photo to this post (It would take years to load and suck the bandwidth right out of my site!) So I picked 20 of the looks submitted :) If your look wasn’t chosen (or even if it was) please feel free to submit a regular Guest Look, which is a post 100% dedicated to one persons look, and can include youtube videos (which this post does not) and is posted once every Monday..     I admire all these girls for rocking bold looks. Me myself I’ve always been scared to wear bright color lips. But since it was a New Year, I decided to give it a try so I created black smoky eye (which my boyfriends loves the most) plus red Chanel Dragon lips. When I got out of bathroom my Mom told me I looked like a slut and that it’s horrible and my Dad started laughing at me… I cried for at least an hour and it ruined my New Years celebrations:-( Even though my boyfriend kept telling me I looked great, I’m not sure I’d ever wear a red lip again. It hurt me so much from my parents. Does any one of you girls have a bad experience as well? How do you manage put up with it? I’m 25, mature adult woman but hell I still don’t have the confidence:-( Leesha you are my hero;-)

      If you’ve never really worn bright color lips before, your parents were probably shocked and didn’t understand what you were trying to do. I know my parents wouldn’t understand and would criticize me if I wore a bright lip like that too, since I’m normally very conservative with my makeup. I’m sorry you got hurt like that, no one should have to feel that way, especially when they aren’t confident in what they’re doing to begin with. Your boyfriend seems really supportive, maybe you should try just wearing bright colors around him until you get used to them on yourself. Also, a bright red is a BIG jump for someone who isn’t used to bold lips (whether it’s you or the people around you), it might be better to ease your way into it by going just a shade or two brighter than what you normally wear at first and then working your way up to the really bright colors. I know your experience was really bad, but I don’t think you should give up on something you want to try because of that reaction. If you build up your confidence enough to wear a bright lip color regularly, your parents will accept it eventually (they may not ever like it, but they’ll learn to ignore what they don’t like about it, at the very least).

    My favorite looks are Anna, Dawn, and Rae… You three are BEAUTIFUL and you are INCREDIBLY talented. You all inspire me though, and it is such a blessing and an honor to be chosen as a guest look. I am just starting to try to launch my passion for makeup into something bigger… So the fact that I made the cut with all these other amazingly talented, beautiful girls is so encouraging! Thank you Leesha, you are my inspiration!:-)
