I am a sucker for sweets. It’s really kind of annoying, especially when I am really trying to be a healthier person. I love ice cream, LOVE baking, and chocolate. My coffee always needs at least one splenda. You get the picture.
This time of year is the absolute worst for avoiding sweet things. They are gifted, you make them to gift, you serve them/eat them at parties.. it’s almost unavoidable. Fortunately, there is one thing that comes out specifically around this time of year that is super sweet, but also healthy and low in calories!

CUTIES! if you’re not from the US, you probably know these as Christmas Oranges, clementines, or just plain ol’ mandarins.

Cuties are one of my favorite parts of the Holiday season. They come in little crates, and each one has a super cute sticker with a fun little saying and picture on it.

The best part? Two of these are only 80 calories, and they are what I call a slow snack, in the sense that you have to work a bit to eat them by peeling them, so you don’t eat as fast as you would, say, eat an open bag of chips, or something you can eat continuously without thinking about it. They’re also full of Vitamin C (almost 300% DV in two!) which is especially great around this time of year, when its so easy to catch a cold!

Personally I’m obsessed, and I always have these on hand around christmas :)
What are your favorite healthy snacks? Doesn’t have to necessarily be something only around this time of year, either :)
