Sorry for being MIA..

Hi guys!

So this is the 2nd week in a row that I didn’t get Fierce Friday up.. the first time was because I was visiting family in AZ and had zero time to film it, and this time was because of the issues I have been having with lighting my videos. Ever since I decided to start filming out of my bedroom and with a plain background, it has been a constant uphill battle trying to find enough lighting so you can see what I’m doing, as well as lighting the background, and making sure the lights are a cool temperature so that applying my makeup isn’t uncomfortable.. I tried so many things and spent so much money and NOTHING seemed to work. I decided over the weekend that I’m just going to abandon the background idea and start filming like I used to, but out in my makeup room.

After much searching, I feel like I have finally found a decent lighting set up, and it’s super pretty on top of that! We went to Ikea and bought a mirror with a black frame, and three light fixtures, and Tyler spent quite a few hours putting it together today. Because the light fixtures are meant to go in the wall, he actually had to connect the wires that were attached to the lighting fixture to a separate wire, splice that wire and attach it to the 2nd fixture, then do the same to the third, and then finally attach that one to an actual plug, so that this would work without taking up half of my surge protector!

It’s definitely an amateurish attempt at a vanity mirror, but I’m really excited about it! It will definitely be a huge improvement as far as lighting goes for my videos. The only problem will be the background of said videos.. I’m not exactly the most organized person, and my photographing area (which will show in the background of the videos now) is usually a disaster scene, covered with “need to photograph” “currently photographing” “done photographing” products that haven’t found homes yet.  I’m gonna have to make sure that area is always pretty, which will be a challenge!

In other news, I set up my baby xmas tree this weekend, and Kiki for one is really enjoying it. I rarely see her out from underneath it! :)

 

I will absolutely have a new video up for you all tomorrow (generally like uploading monday, wednesday, and friday, but since we didn’t finish the mirror setup until 7pm I figured it was too late to get a video up!) and then we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled program :) I’m thinking of doing a foundation favorites video with non airbrush makeup. I have found a few recently I really like and are easily accessible :) Talk soon!
