MAC recently came out with a pressed translucent setting powder, and I am all for it! I’m one of those people who LOVES translucent setting powder, but it’s so easy to overdo it and make a mess, or even give yourself a somewhat ghastly appearance from using too much and dulling out the skin. Having the translucent powder pressed not only controls the amount of product you use better than loose powder, it’s also in a handy compact for on-the-go use, which works out much better than constantly applying powdered foundation to the skin throughout the day, which will build up and ultimately look cakey.

Upon first look, it’s totally understandable to want to do a double-take. I mean, having a compact with what looks like WHITE pressed powder isn’t something you see everyday!

I personally have always loved MAC’s translucent powder. The formula doesn’t feel heavy on your skin, but it isn’t so light you don’t know if you even applied it (like Makeup Forever’s translucent powder) Like I mentioned before, the pressed nature of this powder is even better, as you don’t over apply as easily as you can with loose powder.

This is a product I can see myself buying again and again, as it’s so convenient for at home use and to throw in a purse. However, from a price standpoint, it’s more expensive per oz than the loose powder, but I expected that. This compact has 0.22 oz of product and is $23, where the loose powder counterpart is 1.1oz and is $27. Price aside though, I really like how portable this is, and I feel like you use less product than when just using the loose powder.
