Playdate: Golden Beach Babe

Something I discovered at IMATS is glitter in toned down colors. Well.. maybe it’s not really where I discovered it, but before IMATS I always associated glitter on the eyes as something bright, flashy and over-the-top. When I went over to the Eye Kandy booth, one of the girls working there was swatching glitters mixed with their adhesive on her hand. She was showing us all the colors we asked her to, which were mostly bright shades of pink, blue, and purple. She suggested a honey shade, which I hadn’t even noticed. When she swatched it, it was beautiful! She said it’s a great way to spice up an everyday look without going crazy, and I HAD to try a look like that!

While this isn’t using Eye Kandy, it is using Lit Cosmetics, as I had one of their toned-down shades of glitter for a few months and honestly hadn’t looked twice at it because I didn’t think of how gorgeous it could be. Shame on me, I’m glad I learned my lesson!

    This is AWESOME. I don’t have any neutral or honey colored glitter but I will definitely be recreating this look without it. I just love my UD Naked Palette – tooootally going to redo it using that! Except for the purple, of course. I just want to add that I LOVE your more neutral looks – because while they are neutral shades and are totally safe for work, they’re still always a little bit loud and super fun. I love it!!

      I used the Naked palette. It looks pretty similar to this look. Using Sidecar from the palette will get you the glittery look :) Plus you can use any bright color aside from purple and it’ll still look really pretty

    Very cute look and unique way to use glitter. I do want to add, though, that getting glitter fallout on the cheeks isn’t always a BAD thing. I’ve actually gotten complements when I’ve accidentally sprinkled my cheeks/ under eye area with glitter :3

      agreed!! I like to shimmer myself on a daily basis. Victoria’s Secret used to have those edible body shimmers from the Beauty Rush collection and I LOVE them. I love sparkle, what can I say?

    I agree that UDN pal will have some solid replacement colors for this look w/out the glitter. I can not pull off glitter even when I was younger and glitter was the thing to do!
