When I was first getting into makeup, a huge inspiration for me was Xenia. I loved her bright, wild makeup looks and fashion style that was so different from the norm. I would go to her blog almost daily hoping to see new makeup tutorials, and would hang out on her forum all the time. When I found out she had started her own makeup line, I knew it would be right up my alley and have those beautiful bold colors she made me adore!

I was lucky enough to be able to try some of the shadows out, and let me tell you, I am not disapointed!!

all applied over UDPP dry.
OVERALL: I knew before I’d even opened the containers that these wouldn’t disapoint! Every color has amazing color payoff and is super easy to blend. I didn’t have to pack the color on or anything, just lightly pressed my finger into the shadow and swiped it on top of the UDPP. Medusa probably surprised me the most, its a gorgeous blendable black with the most amazing blue sheen that shows up very nicely. Poodle Pink is one of my favorites, I’m a big sucker for those light pinks!! Snow Queen and Nymph are gorgeous on their own and would be pretty as a quick wash of color, but I’m more excited to use them on top of mattes and over lipsticks and glosses. Pink gloss with that Snow queen = sexy blue pink lips, mmm.. my favorite!!
I also got to try the Magik Finishing Pixie Dust, which is just that: a silica based finishing powder meant to create a soft focus effect, used to minimize imperfections and scatter light. The feel of this reminds me of the Makeup Forever HD powder that is all the rage
The only downsides for these for me has to do with the packaging. The names of the colors aren’t anywhere on the containers, which makes it difficult for me especially (I had to refer to the website when doing the swatches and messed up a few before remembering what I ordered, haha). Xenia let me know that this was just for the first batch, that soon they will all have color stickers, which is good news!
The other thing is that there are no stoppers in the jars. Usually I’m not a big fan of stoppers because it makes it a lot harder to get a good amount of product out, but in this case the product was overflowing a bit and was sort of messy when I opened each jar.
Other than that, I love the product and looove the color payoff. Lime Crime Magic Eye Dusts are available for $12 at Limecrimemakeup.com (sidenote: Her site is wonderful in the sense that everything had not only a skin swatch, but an actual shot of the makeup on her eyes/face. VERY helpful in choosing the colors you want!).

Wow, thanks so much for such a wonderful review! I’m glad you liked the colors – I figured you might since, like me, you’re into really bright-bright stuff!
Packaging. Hmm. I see what you mean – I considered having stoppers but like you said, you can’t get any eyeshadow out of them! Super annoying. I guess I’ll have to figure something out.
By the way, the first batch didn’t but soon all my colors will have color stickers.
)
Again, thanks for the wonderful review!

In regards to the quantity/ no stoppers. Ages ago I use to buy glitter from lime crime, and I was always impressed in comparison her quantity was always very generous! I’m looking forward to getting some of these colors!

Thank you Leesha for doing this review! I’ve been wanting to try these but haven’t heard any reviews. i will definitely check these babies out lol btw, do you pictures of the products in their jars? I want to see how much powder is in 1 gram and how big the jar is compared to like those 5gram sample jars.

Hey thanks for the review!
the colors seems AMAZING i’m for sure picking up a few
are you going to do a tutorial with these? I’d love to see one to see the color combinations and color payoff

These are gorgeous but seem a little expensive… 12 dollars for a gram of product is more than a bit steep especially for a new product.
Not to say I’m not drooling.

Wow, all the colors look awesome! I just wish they were cheaper!
I’m relating their prices to MAC pigment samples, which (if I’m not mistaken) are cheaper, and you would get more product.

i saw all the reviews on yourube and ran to the lime crime web site at light speed. i bought 7 colors and am not too thrilled with them. i own a plethera of mac, beuty from the earth, and just invested the same week in face front and bitch slap. compared to the other 2 aquisitions this week, the lime crime was mid priced at 12 vs the 10 and 14 a piece for the others, but the jars are far far smaller. cost for amount, this stuff wasnt cheap. they are very opaque unless you really pile it on, and its not the most even going on dry when trying to get that “so bright its illegal look”. but i do have to say, it goes on very well wet, which bitch slap does not work wet. the colors are nice, but totally not what they are advertised to be. and they look to be the same exact shades every other company has out. my cheap 120 pallette holds its own better. very bummed about this buy.

Thanks for ths Leesha, the skin swatches are really helpful. I love Xenia, but you’re video tutorial won me over when I saw how the colors showed up. I’ve been buying the colors, I currently own Elf, Pompadour, Vixen, Circus Girl, and Empress. Brightest shadows I’ve ever owned!

Hey! I’ve loved Lime Crime since I decided to try it out a few months ago. I thought I should mention that you dont have the one neccassary color. “Banshee” is my number one favorite color by Lime Crime EVER. It is a dark black with a sort-of burgundy glitter. What I love about this color is that some glitter shadows (especially pigments) are hard to apply because the glitter makes it thicker, but Banshee has the same texture as the other pigments. Get it

why did you include nothing regarding the current scandal associated with this company?? i hate to say it, but i have truly lost respect for you because of this review. not a thing was mentioned about the repackaging scandal, which is important for people to know before they buy this utter crap. why would you not mention that you can get THE SAME EXACT THING from tkbtrading for a fraction of the price?? why would you not mention that the promotional jars she sent you are just that, and that the true amount you receive is much MUCH smaller? or the fact that xenia has been scamming people for years?? these are important things that as a consumer I WANT TO KNOW. im really, really disappointed in you leesha. it makes you seem like just another doe deere minion trying to cover up xenia’s ugly side. it also makes me feel like i cannot trust you anymore. so disappointed : (

my god, kristi, calm down. it seems like your upset. yeah, i get that, but your really don’t need to accuse Leesha of anything. this was posted A YEAR AGO. perhaps she didn’t even *know* about the scandal. plus, nothing has been proven yet. until something is, i don’t think we need to push around any more rumors. while i am personally on the fence right now regarding the situation, i still think it’s too early to judge. please don’t lash out at Leesha or lose respect for her for something that’s not her fault.

Hey Leesha, just wanted to say I love you and all things you do!
I love your tutorials, your attitude, and your personality that shines through your videos. Makeup is a new medium for me, as I used to be a makeup hater! But people like you, have taught me that it is also a creative medium and make up isn’t just about looking barbie gorgeous all the time. I’m a fan of your dramatic neon colors, and yes, I *DO* go out with that kind of eyeshadow on my face haha
Best of luck in everything !
