Inside Airbrush: FAQs, Dinair, Luminess Air, OCC, & Temptu

Airbrushing videos on my channel are always hit or miss; people either are really intrigued and want to know more, or they arent interested because it’s something they will never purchase. I totally understand both sides, but personally airbrushing has become my favorite part of applying makeup :) I love that its something new and different for me, and I absolutely LOVE the results. I’m going to be uploading a video showing how to apply airbrush foundation for flawless results (I know, I’ve done videos like this in the past, but I really wasn’t as knowledgeable as I am now about the subject) I’m a little nervous about it because I start off with absolutely no makeup on, and I’ve never really done that before! :X oh well, it shows how amazing the coverage is (I had the results on in my skincare video, and a lot of people thought I had no makeup on at all- that’s how I know I’m doing it right!!) :)

ANYWAYS, I put together a 5-part series that answers some FAQs I get about airbrushing, as well as giving an in-depth look at Dinair, Luminess Air, OCC, and Temptu airbrush lines. I hope this is helpful to those of you looking into airbrushing!!

    This was great for me personally so thank you, I was tempted to buy a temptu (hahaaa) but after watching these I think I’m going to buy Dinair because I think its the best for me in a couple of different ways! xxx

    I noticed in the first video your forehead is a little oily. Does airbrush better or worsen oily skin?

    Thank you so much for doing this! I was trying to decide on which one I was wanting to go wiith and if it was worth the money. I have always been leaning towards the dinair one. I was going to getthe perimedical foundation … because I have pseriosis that I would like to cover up in certain spots … I also thought I saw somewhere that the perimedical is waterproof/sweatproof. Do you know if it is? Or does the regular stay on pretty well? I work in a nursing home where its constantly hot … and my foundation is usually off within the first hour of my shift and I really want a foundation that stays … and I would like to know

    DON’T BUY THE DINAIR…TRUST ME. I purchased it, after a week I had the worst breakout ever! I went to my derm and they confirmed that the Dinair had been breaking me out. Their ingredients are not all great, really. Good luck finding it on their website because they don’t have it – for obvious reasons I mentioned.

    If you’re going to buy an airbrush, get the Temptu…it won’t break you out like Dinair. I have oily/acne prone skin so if there’s anyone who knows the struggle of finding a perfect foundation for that type of skin – it’s me.

      I asked Dinair’s customer service and they would not give me the list of their ingredients. Is there any way I can get them from you?

      I have been using dinair for awhile now and my skin has gotten so much better.

    There is a pool scene in an upcoming movie I’m doing where the girl is going to be soaking wet. Which type of airbrush makeup is best for waterproof? The SB Temptu?

    I can’t find a lot of information on the Kett makeup. Have you tried it? Could you use the Kett foundation in a Dinair compressor? I have seen this question asked, but never answered. If anyone knows, I would really appreciate your response! :)

      Hey Autumn – the Kett Jett is awesome! It’s definitely one of the better consumer airbrush kits. You could use the Kett foundation in the Dinair but I wouldn’t risk it since it’s less watery than the Dinair makeup. Kett makeup is fantastic and they have an impressive compressor too. Sometimes I just use their makeup without airbrushing and it still looks great… but the Dinair is cheaper and still a great kit.     Hey, I was thinking of getting an airbrush foundation kit. I Have teenage spots and quite oily skin, I want a kit that makes my skin look flawless but not gunked in makeup. I’m very conscious about my skin and I want my skin to look like I have naturally perfect skin. At the moment Temptu is sounding the best but I want to be able to take it places with me. Which one would seem best for me?

    I own a Luminess, but like the idea of the Temptu foundation. Can you attach the Temptu stylus to the Luminess hose so I can use the S/B foundation?

    hi! hows the coverage of temptu s/b as compared to the occ? we have locally made silicone based airbrush foundation over here and other people like it cause its light but i find it a little too sheer.. a layer or two of it makes my skin look smooth but blemished if that makes any sense

    Hey! Quick question that’s totally off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My weblog looks weird when browsing from my iphone 4. I’m trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to fix this problem. If you have any suggestions, please share. With thanks!

    Is it possible to use a silicon based primer (put on by hand, brush etc) on your face first to help with wrinkles/fine lines and then use the airbrush system with the water-based foundation? I hope this makes sense. :~). I am wanting something to help with fine lines and some wrinkles and not sure the waterbased will be enough. I am in my mid 40′s so they are not going away. Can you give me any insight as to how well airbrushing helps to cover fine lines and wrinkles?

      I am also in my 40′s and am a makeup artist. first question..yes it works fabulous! The airbrush makeup will not set in fine wrinkles and actually makes me look 10 years younger…yes i said 10 years. I do alot of weddings, pageants, etc…and everyone over 30 is amazed by the results. Absolutely worth your money:)

    Hi! I’m getting married in July and I want to get the best look possible!! I am a makeup artist but have never used airbrush. I have a bit of dry skin and a small but dark tattoo on my chest that I want to cover up for my big day…. Please help me choice I have been leaning toward the dinair but im just not sure???

      I have heard dinair is awesome. I however use luminesse and have had fabulous results. I purchased some dinair blush, but found it too thick for my luminesse gun so I watered it down. For covering a tatoo you may want to use the thicker dinair though i am not sure if that will cover it or not. do a search for tattoo makeup concealer..hope this helps:)
