120 Palettes Comparison

By  |  34 Comments

Seeing as there are three editions of the 120 palette from BH Cosmetics, I figured it’d be a good idea to compare them to see what exactly the differences were, because unless you really examined the pictures on the website it was a little hard to tell, especially the 1st and 2nd editions. Here is a video explaining my thoughts on the palettes, and which one I recommend.

Very cool colors, what’s strange is I have the 120 pallet by “SHANY” through amazon, and it’s the exact same pallet as your BH #1 pallet. Same high pigment too.

its the same palette they all get it through china shany, coastal scents, bh cosmetics and manly. Same exact product u can even get them on ebay with no name brand on them for WAY cheaper cuz it will ship from china.

Oh, okay lol Yeah I couldn’t understand if one was actually an “original” and the others were just replicating them. Good to know! :) TY

I would ‘t go with getting it from china. It will take about 3 wks for it to come it and the color there is not much of a pay off. I would stick to bh cosmetics i get all my stuff from there and you get your product 2-6 days. “JUST SAYING”

The color payoff will be the same, Loni. They are all the exact same product. BH cosmetics gets their palettes from chinese wholesellers and sell it for $30, while you can buy it directly from China for around $12 or even less. But they are the exact same product. if youw ant to give BH cosmetics double the price, though, that’s up to you.

Well maybe people don’t want to take an risks with getting a different product or getting scammed. What do you do, type China.com in and order it straight from there? Where do you suggest to go to buy something straight from China? And I got my BH for $18 not thirty.

Grace, they may be the exact same pruduct but Bh’s formula is different. I know ‘cuz I’ve gotten one of the China ones (off of ebay) and the colour payoff and texture of the eyeshadows was slightly different. Also, I got both the first and the 4th edition from BH for 20$ each on a sale. The fourth edition is my favourite and it is all shimmery colours. Trust me when I say that BH improoves their formula every once in a while (they did this for their liquid eyeliner marker as well-that’s why it wasn’t sold on their site for a little while). The shimmer colours in my 4th ed. are a LOT smoother, more pigmented and have a lot less fallout than the ones in my 1st edition palette.
Zoe-to buy it straight from China, you buy it off of either amazon or ebay. I wouldn’t recommend it though, because when I bought mine it took 2 1/2 months to ship and I couldn’t get into contact with the seller. I’d given up on it when it finally came.

It’s not the same as Coastal Scents, they don’t sell a 120 pallette only 88 pallettes.

what makes this palette diffrent from the Coastal Scents palettes ?

    which one is better ?

coastal scents doesn’t sell 120 palettes, just 88. the colors are gonna be similar depending on which 88 and 120 palettes you get, but i like the 120s better because each shadow is bigger, i like the color range more, and i like the way its packaged more.

Hay Leesha! Loved the review, I had been wondering the differences myself. Just wanted to give you a heads up, you were looking for an alternative I guess for your ivory pigment stack from Naked Cosmetics since it is pretty pricey ($60 i think D:). Although I haven’t tried these particular ones I thought it’d be something different. There’s a company called Pure Luxe cosmetic and one they’re site there is a category called Specialty Color Items and down the page a bit there is a collection called the Aura Collection. It’s a bunch of white based pigments w/ color duochromes. I thought it might be cool to look into, I can’t wait to order myself :D There’s 8 different colors too so you would have all you needed! Just thought i’d let you kno! <3 ur vids! :D

I still like the 2nd edition best…which is good, because it’s the one I have haha…I didn’t see the point in the speckles but I loved the bright colors! I use the hot pinks all the time..and I can’t wait for more red tutorials since I always look sick when I try reds haha

From what I know there’s also a 4th version, one with all neutrals. I have the 2nd version, I like that the colors are still bright, but not neon.

Their is a neutral fourth version from ebay ( I think amazon too but I haven’t heard any positive reviews for that one. BH came out with a 4th edition last year tho, its all shimmery colours and I LOVE it (I have it and its AMAZING-my favourite palette from them). They’re also coming out with a 5th edition for neutral and warm colours but they haven’t released it yet (I found this out from their facebook page).

Is it possible to de-pot these palettes at all or are you stuck with the big case? Might be useful if you buy a couple palettes and want to rearrange colours or if you want to just take a couple colours with you at a time.

Yay! Loved that you actual went through everything! I was actually getting ready to make a purchase of the number one palette! But I think I’mg going to go for number three instead! thanks Leesha! Oh and BTW what nail polish are you wearing? I’m doing a Nail resolution to try and stop nail bitting and I love the color of your polish! It would be a great incentive to stop the biting!

I’m so happy that you’ve reviewed these. I emailed you about BH Cosmetics a few months back to see what you thought but you hadn’t tried them at that point. I went ahead and bought it anyway because I was dying for a large palette of colors and I’ve been pretty happy with it.

Just wanted to know where you can find these palettes? I’m kind of hesitant when it comes to ordering things online, but these palettes def seem worth it lol.

Having the same price as the Very Berry Float, I thought it was inequitably not
worth the money to spend for the Brown Cow.
